We went into the game full of confidence and with the belief that we could get something from the game as we have been playing good football and got the win last week. All the lads were good and sharp in training all week. We started slowly and ended up on the back foot when their centre half rose the highest and scored from a corner. But again, we showed good character and took the game to them. We were the better team in first half and they never really threatened our goal, but we had a couple of good chances to level the game, but their keeper was in excellent form and denied us. We finally got what we deserved after good build up play the ball fell to Lorcan Forde who kept his cool and slotted home. We went into the break level. We regrouped at half time and had a change of formation and came out strong and knocked the ball about well. Lorcan Forde produced a great piece of skill to beat his man to get a cross into the box, and the ball fell to Mc Menamin who slotted the ball into the bottom corner with his right foot. We didn’t sit back so we took the game to them again and went on the counter attack again. We were punished for this when they got the equaliser with an unbelievable strike. We never really regrouped quick enough after their second goal, and they got their third when the ball hit the post and fell kindly to our former player Stephen Murray who scored. Like in previous games, we did not drop the heads and we fought our way back into the game. Lorcan Forde who was causing problems all day was first to react to a bad pass from their keeper, and he slipped the ball to Davidson who scored with a good finish. The game had everything and from a spectators view it was a good watch with attacking end to end football. But at the end of the day we need to stop conceding so many goals. We showed great character and belief to get a point against a strong Glenavon team away from home, and it gets us a point closer to our target.
