“We Finally got the win we deserved” Stevie Moan Nov 13, 2017

Carrick Rangers Review

We finally got the win we deserved. I think that we played some good football in the first half, but we were not taking our chances. One of their players got a red card before half time which gave us a boost. I think that Davidson was unlucky not to get on the scoresheet, but he had a good game in the middle of the park linking up the play. We were knocking on the door for some time and we were hoping it wasn’t going to be ‘one of them days’ again when TJ Murray smashed his shot of the crossbar.  We finally got our goal when a Marty Murray corner was headed back across by Conor Mac and Stephen Murray smashed it into the roof of the net. A second goal quickly followed, when young Lorcan Forde played a great ball across the box and Stephen Murray got a touch which nutmegged Doherty in the Carrick goal. We could have scored a few more goals but it wasn’t to be, and we were just happy to get the win. I think all the lads played well in this game and we all worked hard for the full 90 minutes. Hopefully we can now push on and stay out of the bottom two.

Glentoran Preview

We now turn our focus to next week when we face Glentoran at home in the league. They beat us 2-0 earlier in the season so we will be looking to get payback. The last time we met I thought we played good football and created chances, but we did not take the. I believe that we should take confidence from our win at the weekend. If we do that, work hard and stay focused for the full game I believe that we can get something from the game.
