This was a game that we came into on the back of two defeats in our last two games, so we knew we had to improve and up our game. We knew how they would play so we trained Tuesday and Thursday and worked on things which we took into the game. I thought we were professional and carried out everything that Stevie had asked of us. First half we should have been out of sight and the game put to bed with Lorcan, Dean and Danny Wallace having decent chances. We got a bit of a reality check at half time from the coaches and manager as we were the better team, but we weren’t clinical enough in the final third. Second half we played decent and moved the ball all over the park. They had decent chances, but we defended well and Beraat was in good form to deny them. Lorcan got the winner late on. He showed great skill and ability to beat a few men and got abit of deserved luck when he dinked the keeper and tapped it in. Overall, we are delighted that we have secured Premiership football for next season and we can start to build for it and hopefully push on.
This week we travel to take on Dungannon. We will get back to training this week and prepare for this fixture. We go into this game full of confidence from our recent performances. We can also take confidence from our last game against Dungannon where we came our 3-0 winners at home. I thought that we were excellent in this game with everyone working hard for each other and playing good football. Hopefully we can get something from the game this Saturday.
Captain, Stevie Moan
