‘Tipton: Double Signing Boost the Start of It’
Warrenpoint Town have completed a double signing boost. Experienced Keith O’Hara and teenager Deane Watters have completed their moves which has been greeted with optimism with the faithful fans.
O’Hara will need no introduction to fans of the Irish League as he has spent nearly 20 years marshalling the back line at Portadown. He will bring a much-needed experience to the youngest team in the league.
Manager Matthew Tipton said “I feel his experience is something we have been lacking not only on the field this season but also in the dressing room.
“Our team has an average age around 21 and Keith will help guide them all.
“He has been training with us for the last few weeks and has shown us what great physical condition he is in so he is ready to go.
Deane Watters is a 19-year-old centre midfielder who has come in from Dundalk.
Tipton said that “massive credit in this signing goes to our Head of Youth and First team Coach Stephen McDonnell who spends numerous hours keeping tabs on players from Dundalk and further afield.
“IT is important that we network and keep close eyes on our bigger hinterland.
“Deane was part of the Dundalk under-19 team which won the all-Ireland title this year.
“He has been training with us for awhile and I have loved the way he gets on the ball and plays at a tempo that will fir into our style of play.
“A big welcome to both lads and hopefully that’s not the end of the incomings.
