“This was a great start to Stevie Mc Donnell’s reign as manager” Stevie Moan Mar 19, 2018

Ballymena United Away

This was a great team performance and a great start to Stevie Mc Donnell’s reign as manager. We came out of the blocks fast and took the game to them. We were playing fast free flowing football. We were unlucky to hit the woodwork in the early stages directly from a corner. We conceded from another set piece, and it was our former player Mc Murray which put them 1-0 up. Jonny Parr then produced an excellent penalty save. This gave us a major boost.  Shortly after we were awarded a penalty ourselves which Sean mackle converted to level the game. Anto Reilly then headed us in front from a corner, which meant we went in at the break 2-1 up. We came out in the second half and we continued to play good football and we were rewarded when Alan O’Sullivan got our third with another header at the back post. I thought that we went into this game with a good positive attitude and everyone worked for each other. Every man played their part. Special mention to Jonny Parr who I thought was excellent between the sticks. Stevie has implemented his style and we know what he wants us to do. We were well organised, and we were playing fast free flowing football.

Crusaders Home Preview (Live on Sky Sports)

The Ballymena result gives us a lot of confidence going into next Monday’s massive fixture against Crusaders. If we play like we did against Ballymena, I believe that we can pick up points. Crusaders have been playing excellent football this season and we have got a new lease off life under our new manager, so this is sure to be a cracking game of football. We also have the advantage of playing at the Q Radio arena for this game. This game is live on sky sports, we are very excited as this is our first ever live television broadcast. We encourage everyone to come along to the Q Radio Arena next Monday for this game.
