Not the usual ‘Moan’ Aug 15, 2017

Not the Usual Moan

Firstly, it’s great to be back into league action, obviously the result didn’t go our way but there is definitely a lot of positives to be taken from the game. I think that we were maybe a little bit nervous in the first 30 minutes of the game. In this period of the game I think that we were slow and didn’t get going until after that. We conceded sloppy goals. At this level, it is vital to clear the first ball and react quickest to the second ball or you will get punished. We are a very young team and still gelling together so it will take time. But there are glimpses that it’s coming together. Our attitude to battle back was excellent. On another day with more experience we may have been able to hold on and see the game out when we got level. But we learn from this and we will gain more experience and confidence playing each week together in this league and we will improve.

Crusaders is a massive game tonight and we are going in as major underdogs. I Believe if we stick together, work hard and try to catch them on the counter again we definitely have a chance. Frustrating a team like crusaders is definitely the way to approach the game. It is going to be hard work, but we are all looking forward to the challenge. The Ards game is a game where we feel that we should be collecting 3 points.  But in this league, no one hands them to you on a plate, so we must play our best and go into the game full of confidence. Also, it’s a major boast playing at Milltown for this match.  We need all the support we can get to help us get the 3 points.  It’s going to be a long season and everyone can beat each other in this league. We must make sure that we make our home ground a fortress. No one comes to here and walks away with easy points. As we showed against Glenavon we are not a team to just roll over.
