It’s great to be back in action and we are looking forward to the season ahead with another year in the top flight. We are into the 3rd week of pre-season and there is still a lot of hard work to be done to make sure we are ready for the first game and the first half of the season. Preparation and commitment is the key for us this year. We are learning the game under Stevie and Colly and everyone is willing to put in the work and we all want the club to do very well this year. There has been a lot of changes from last year, regarding players and staff, so I believe we have a squad there now that can take us to another level and further up the table compared to previous seasons. This comes with hard work, dedication and the will to win games. We have a big start to the season playing last seasons top 6 in our first 7 league fixtures. I think this squad has the mentality and skill for us to do very well, so we are all looking forward to the season starting
Saturday’s match against Larne was a disappointment regarding the level of hard work and the score line. We were sluggish, rusty and not ourselves. But it was the first preseason match, so it was always going to be tough. A lot of new faces at the club now that the staff have brought in and it will take time for everyone to gel together. There are positives to take from the game, some of the new lads made their debuts and performed well. We also had a few passages of play that were decent, and we looked good on the break. We shall move onto this Saturdays game v Loughall and put in the hard work and build up our match speed and sharpness.
Captain, Stevie Moan
